BigDid is looking for bright and adventurous individuals to work at our Panajachel, Guatemala offices.

The following positions are available:

Content Creators

Looking for a writers to create and edit content for a Community Web site to be responsible for brainstorming and producing compelling creative content, such as:

• In depth travel destination information and lifestyle guides

Fluency in more then one language a big plus.

Graphics designers

• Prior web and graphics design experience ideally for software oriented products
• Exposure to Graphical User Interfaces for web or mobile based applications and user experience design for usability
• Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML)
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop

What you will be doing:

• Maintaining GUI branding, skinning and style guidelines and wireframes for an interactive mobile media solution
• Working closely with sales and marketing in support of pre-sales efforts and development of custom creative GUI design mockups for new services
• Maintaining branding guidelines across web, print and social media
• Developing and contributing to creative aspects of marketing collateral (datasheets, whitepapers, case studies, brochures, promotionals) and trade show booth graphics
• Maintaining creative and overall visual aspects of multi able websites

Programmers

Responsibilities will include:

• Working across cross-functional technology teams to understand and implement technical specifications.
• Adhering to best practices and standards build software that fits into the existing architecture.
• Outline and meet project and development time commitments for assigned projects.
• Apply a natural technical curiosity to grow, learn, and contribute to the overall success of the company.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience web programming with PHP and MySQL.
• A solid understanding of object oriented design, database abstraction, and templating systems.
• An understanding of Internet protocols and Networks.
• Any Linux system administration experience is considered a big plus.
• Experience building large dynamic websites a plus.
